Pont d’en Gil Cave — Menorca’s Must-Dive Site

Pont d’en Gil Cave — an underwater tunnel that leads into an air-filled chamber beneath the iconic natural arch — is, for many, the most spectacular dive in Menorca and one of the best in the Balearic Islands. Accessible from our boat, its wide entrance, submerged stalactites and stalagmites, and the opportunity to surface inside an air dome make it a truly unique experience.

The cave extends more than 200 meters inland and contains two large breathable air chambers.
Main entrance: the descent reaches about 12 m in depth. After the first 40 m, most of the route remains shallower than 6 m, making it suitable for divers with limited experience, always under supervision and with proper lighting. There is also a secondary entrance from Cala Cigonya, connected to the main gallery by a narrow passage (not recommended for claustrophobic divers). Inside, a halocline forms (mixing filtered freshwater and seawater), creating a magical, blurry visual effect (and a cold one!).

Pont d’en Gil Cave — We depart from Cala’n Bosch harbour and head toward the iconic natural arch of Pont d’en Gil. After anchoring by the entrance, we descend through a wide crack that leads into a submarine tunnel decorated with stalactites and limestone formations, emerging inside the inner air chamber — a place that combines the thrill of cave diving with the beauty of a unique underwater landscape.

The dive, guided by experienced instructors, takes place at moderate depths (2–13 m) and is suitable for divers of all levels who have good buoyancy and proper training. Considered by schools and guides as one of the top dives in the Balearic Islands, Pont d’en Gil offers spectacular photography opportunities, the characteristic biodiversity of Menorca’s coastline, and above all, a true sense of adventure you won’t forget.
